Former Uttarakhand chief minister and senior Congress leader Harish Rawat narrowly escaped injury after his vehicle met with an accident near Meerut on Saturday, news agency ANI reported. Rawat was travelling from Delhi to Dehradun at the time of the incident. Fortunately, he emerged unhurt and continued his journey safely. Authorities are investigating the cause of the accident. Rawat, served as the chief minister of Uttarakhand from 2014 to 2017. He also served as union minister of water resources from 2012 to 2014 in the Manmohan Singh-led government.
