CHESAPEAKE, Va. — Chants, signs, and more than a thousand people once again filled the area off Volvo Parkway Saturday morning, as demonstrators gathered for the second No Kings protest in Chesapeake.

The event was part of a nationwide “No Kings Day of Action,” organized by South Hampton Roads Indivisible and partner groups across the country. Participants described it as a peaceful call to protect democracy, uphold the Constitution, and encourage civic involvement.

“We’re supporting democracy, we’re supporting our Constitution,” said organizer Louis Leyes, with South Hampton Roads Indivisible. “We’re trying to point out that there’s a difference between what we believe the Constitution should be doing and what we’re actually seeing in today’s world.”
