DARE COUNTY, N.C. — A Pennsylvania man died after the boat he was in capsized at Oregon Inlet in Dare County on Saturday afternoon.

The incident happened when Francis Hennigan Jr., 50, of Glenmoore, Pa., and Taylor Flannery, 29, of Point Pleasant, New Jersey, were manning a 50-foot sportfishing vessel. They were stopping in Beaufort, N.C., for repairs to a damaged prop on their way from Cape May, N.J., to Florida.

While they were navigating Oregon Inlet, the vessel capsized and threw both occupants overboard, according to a spokesman for the North Carolina Wildlife Resources Commission. Neither was wearing a life jacket.

The U.S. Coast Guard rescued Flannery, who was taken to Outer Banks Health Hospital with minor injuries. Hennigan was located unresponsive in the water shortly afterwar
