After one developer applied to squeeze 32 bedrooms between two buildings on what was a single-family home lot in northeast London, some politicians want to make sure it doesn’t happen again.

Deputy mayor and planning committee vice-chair Shawn Lewis, and Ward 7 Coun. Corrine Rahman have sent a letter to their colleagues on the planning and environment committee ahead of their Tuesday meeting, asking for changes limiting the number of bedrooms and square footage in “additional residential units” such as laneway homes and basement apartments.
