SHELBYVILLE, Texas (KTRE) - The Shelbyville Dragons picked up their first district win with a come-from-behind 17-14 win over Timpson on Thursday night.

Michael Coleman and Ryan Smith broke down the Dragons’ win on Red Zone Overtime. Smith says the team was motivated after a 1-5 start to the year.

“They picked up their second win of the season, and their first district win of the year, to kind of catapult themselves right back into the playoff picture,” said Smith. “It takes a lot to get these 1-5 teams to get motivated during the week, and it showed on Thursday night getting that big win in a much needed scenario.”

The Dragons (2-5, 1-1) travel to San Augustine to face the Wolves on Oct. 24, while Timpson (3-4, 1-1) hosts Joaquin.
