Jammu Tawi, Oct 18: In a major crackdown on ticketless travel, the Jammu Division of Indian Railways carried out an intensive ticket checking campaign, penalising 673 passengers in a single day and collecting a record Rs 5 lakh in fines—the highest single-day recovery ever for the division.

The large-scale drive, as per news agency, spearheaded by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (Sr. DCM) Uchit Singhal, covered key stations including Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Katra, Srinagar, and Budgam.

The campaign was executed under the supervision of Assistant Commercial Manager, Jammu, Manoj Meena, with multiple teams inspecting trains and platforms across the division.
