Srinagar, Oct 18: In a major crackdown on ticketless and irregular travel, the Jammu Division of Indian Railways collected a record revenue of around Rs 5 lakh in a single day, after 673 passengers were found travelling without valid tickets or travel authority during an intensive ticket checking campaign conducted on October 17, officials said.
The large-scale drive, led by Senior Divisional Commercial Manager (DCM) Uchit Singhal, was carried out across key stations including Jammu, Pathankot Cantt, Pathankot City, Katra, Srinagar, and Budgam.
The ticket checking teams, supervised by Assistant Commercial Manager Manoj Meena, inspected both station premises and trains to identify cases of ticketless and irregular travel.
