KINGSTON, N.Y. — Health care costs could soar for people enrolled in Obamacare plans in the 18th and 19th Districts if government subsidies are allowed to expire at the end of the year under a Republican plan, according to a report by an independent non-profit group.
The report was compiled by KFF, a healthcare policy nonprofit research group. It shows a significant rise in healthcare premium costs under the GOP-proposed government cuts to the Affordable Care Act, commonly known as Obamacare. In part, the cuts have spurred a government shutdown, with Democrats in the U.S. Senate balking at the idea.
