Star India batter Kiran Navgire on Friday took the ongoing Senior Women’s T20 Trophy by storm, smashing a 35-ball 106-run innings for Maharashtra against Punjab, at the VCA Stadium in Civil Lines, in Nagpur. Navgire had come to the fore around three years ago as a big-hitter and she lived up to her reputation.

Opening for Maharashtra in the chase of 111, Navgire, a six-time T20I cricketer for India, smashed an unbeaten 106 off just 35 deliveries.

After losing her fellow opener Ishwari Savkar on the seventh delivery, Navgire, alongside Mukta Magre, guided Maharashtra to a win against Punjab in just eight overs. The unbeaten 103-run stand was one-sided, with the latter contributing just six runs off 10 deliveries while Navgire blasted 97 off 31.
