LOUISVILLE, Ky. —

One plane failed to take off and ran off the runway, and another damaged its landing gear during landing, within an hour of each other at Bowman Field, Saturday.

A Cirrus SR22 aborted takeoff on runway 6/24 around 12:25 p.m. The plane then went off the runway and into the grass next to the runway. It was later towed to the ramp area.

A Sting Sport aircraft damaged its landing gear after it had landed. This incident occurred at 1:10 p.m. on runway 15/33.

The two people on the Cirrus SR22 and the sole passenger, the pilot, of the Sting Sport reported no injuries, according to a spokesperson for Bowman Field.

Runway 6/24 has reopened following the incident, but runway 15/33 remained closed for several hours, reopening at 5:30 p.m.
