The No. 13-ranked Coconino football team took one big step toward hosting a playoff game and possibly winning a region championship on Friday night. The Panthers defeated the No. 16 Lee Williams Volunteers, 28-12, in Kingman to improve to 4-0 in Grand Canyon Region play.

All 28 of Coconino’s points came in the second half as Lee Williams had possession of the ball for the vast majority of the first half. A couple of key stops by the Panthers, both early and late in the game, gave them the will to pull away late. Copy article link
