Hamilton firefighters extinguished a fire in an east Hamilton building Saturday afternoon.
The fire department responded to a the fire at 119 Princess St. near Sherman Avenue around 1:50 p.m.

First arriving crews reported heavy smoke with visible flames from a section of the roof on the multi-storey industrial building, said Hamilton Fire Chief Dave Cunliffe in a news release.
Upon entering the building firefighters saw a fire inside, upgrading the fire to a “multiple alarm,” drawing additional units from across the city.
“The fire which appears to have started on the roof has caused considerable damage to the roof structure and to the solar panel system that was on the roof,” said Cunliffe in the relea
