FALL RIVER, Mass. —
A group of pheasant hunters in the Freetown-Fall River State Forest found human remains on Saturday morning, according to the Fall River, Massachusetts Police Department.
In a statement posted to their Facebook page, police say the skeletal remains of two people were located "in the immediate area" of a vehicle deep in the woods off Copicut Rd.
Bristol County District Attorney Thomas Quinn III's office said a suicide note was also recovered at the scene.
The name of the deceased parties is not being released at this time.
Police, along with the major crimes division and the crime scene unit secured the area.
According to investigators, evidence suggests there is no ongoing threat to the public and "no outside actors involved."
