The defense will be down perhaps its best player on Saturday night when Pitt (4-2, 2-1 ACC) battles Syracuse (3-3, 1-2 ACC) at the JMA Wireless Dome. Rasheem Biles, the Panthers’ leading tackler, popped up on the Panthers’ availability report Friday night with an undisclosed injury. He was labeled questionable for and was ruled out prior to kickoff against the Orange.

Biles is far and away the team’s top tackler, with 53 total stops at the midway point of the regular season. He’s added a team-best 8.5 tackles for loss and two sacks, plus an interception return for a touchdown to his outstanding 2025 season resume.

Defensive end Blaine Spires and left tackle Jeff Persi, both starters, will each miss their second straight games.
