(FOX40.COM) — The ultra-low-cost Spirit Airlines said on Thursday that it will furlough another 365 pilots in early 2026 in an attempt to save funds after filing for bankruptcy on Aug. 29 for the second time.

The airline also announced it will lower the status of up to 170 pilots. This comes after the airline filed for bankruptcy for a second time in August of this year, after it previously filed for bankruptcy in 2024.

Spirit said it wants to cut $100 million in yearly spending on pilots in an effort to save money.
