DETROIT, MI - A Michigan State Police (MSP) trooper was patrolling the Detroit area around 1:35 a.m. on Oct. 18 when a stolen Dodge Durango was located near I-96 and Joy Road.

The MSP flight crew then observed the suspect driver enter the MotorCity Casino Hotel garage in downtown Detroit.

Troopers and Detroit Police officers arrived and found the vehicle unoccupied on the first floor of the garage, according to the news release. A description of the suspect was obtained from security cameras.

Both agencies then located the suspect in the casino, who immediately fled the premises.

Police said they were able to apprehend the 25-year-old male suspect from Ann Arbor hiding in bushes near the M-10 service drive. He was taken into custody without further incident.
