MANDAN, N.D. — For the first time in 16 years, Fargo South stands above all in North Dakota boys soccer.

Moussa Sanoh scored in the third minute while Luis Lemo-Bustamante added insurance on a late penalty kick to lift the Bruins to a 2-0 win over Grand Forks Red River in the state tournament championship game on a windy Saturday afternoon at Starion Sports Complex.

Sanoh netted his third goal of the tournament on a feed from teammate Prajal Rai to put his team up 1-0 early. Later on, in the 75th minute, Lemo-Bustamante netted a PK that beat Grand Forks Red River goalkeeper Andrew Christianson to his left.

The win gave South its state-leading seventh boys soccer championship and the first since 2009.
