SACRAMENTO, Calif. —

A man was fatally shot Friday night in south Sacramento, officials said.

Officers with the Sacramento Police Department were dispatched around 11:50 p.m. to a reported shooting in the 7700 block of 51st Avenue in the Glen Elder neighborhood, the police department said.

Upon arrival, officers found an adult male with at least one gunshot wound. Despite lifesaving efforts by officers, the man was pronounced dead at the scene, the police department said.

Homicide detectives and crime scene investigators are investigating the death. No information on possible suspects has been released to the public at this time. Anyone with any information is asked to contact the police department.
