A pastor in suburban Chicago is facing allegations of grooming and sexual misconduct, according to a letter sent Saturday from the Archdiocese of Chicago.

Father Xamie Reyes of the Little Flower Parish in Waukegan was accused of grooming and sexual misconduct, according to the letter signed by the Archbishop of Chicago, Cardinal Blase J. Cupich.

The archdiocese said the allegations "do not involve children and youth, but they do involve seminarians."

Reyes will "live away from the parish pending the outcome of an investigation," the archdiocese's letter stated.

Reverend Ismael Garcia, the Little Flower Parish's associate pastor, was appointed as administrator of the parish effective immediately, the letter stated.
