LA CRESCENT, Minn. — A high-speed chase involving a stolen vehicle ended dramatically in La Crosse, Wisconsin, early on Saturday, according to the La Crescent Police Department. The pursuit began after the department was called to support the Houston County Sheriff's Office in a domestic violence and vehicle theft case.

The chase, which exceeded speeds of 100 miles per hour, concluded when the suspect abandoned the vehicle and attempted to evade capture by jumping into the Mississippi River. He then climbed onto an anchored barge, leading to a tense standoff with police.
