LEESVILLE, La. (KALB) - Dozens gathered outside Leesville City Hall on October 18 as part of a national wave of demonstrations called “No Kings” rallies, protesting President Donald Trump and recent federal actions.

Around 30 protesters gathered outside Leesville City Hall from noon to 2 p.m., holdings signs and shouting chants about democracy, voting rights and immigration policy. The group said they wanted to stand against what they called “government overreach.”

The rallies took place across the country as Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE) continued ramping up arrests in a nationwide immigration crackdown. Protesters also pointed to the Trump administration’s decision to send National Guard troops into several Democratic-led cities as another reason for organizing.
