A violent confrontation stemming from an alleged extramarital affair left two people dead and one critically injured in central Delhi’s Ram Nagar area late Friday night. Police said a 22-year-old pregnant woman was fatally stabbed by her lover in public, before her husband, in an act of self-defence, killed the attacker.

The deceased have been identified as Shalini (22) and Aashu alias Shailendra (34), while Shalini’s husband Akash (23), an e-rickshaw driver, is undergoing treatment with multiple stab injuries. Shalini was a homemaker and mother of two daughters.
