Nonconference matches are normally not emphasized this late into the girls volleyball season.

Then again, when Windsor plays host to University at 6:30 p.m. Tuesday, it won’t be any ordinary nonconference match.

The match should have a postseason-like feel, as the Wizards sit in second and the Bulldogs are seventh in Class 4A Selection and Seeding Index, which will be used to determine postseason seeding in a couple weeks.

Windsor is 12-4 overall, 7-3 in the 5A/4A Northern Conference. University is 14-3 overall, 9-2 in the 4A/3A/2A Patriot League.

The two squads are easily two of the top programs locally, and both figure to be legitimate contenders when the championship is decided in the middle of November.
