BARNSTABLE, Mass. —
A woman was rushed to the hospital on Saturday morning following a shooting and standoff in Barnstable, Massachusetts.
According to Barnstable police, officers were called to the area of 174 Main Street around 4:15 a.m. for a report of shooting.
Arriving crews found a 28-year-old woman suffering a gunshot wound to the chest.
Medical assistance was immediately rendered and she was flown to a Boston hospital for further treatment. Her condition remains unknown at this time.
The Cape Cod Regional Law Enforcement Council SWAT Team assisted Barnstable police at two separate, active scenes along Main Street, blocking off traffic for hours.
Traffic was routed away from the immediate area of Main Street between Center Street and Pleasant Street.
