KANSAS CITY, Mo. -- One man is dead after a shooting in Kansas City's Westport neighborhood early Sunday morning.
According to Kansas City police, around 2:50 a.m., police were in the area of Westport Road and Mill Street when they heard gunshots north of the intersection.
Officers found a man unresponsive to the north and west of Westport and Mill in an unnamed restaurant's parking lot.
The man was taken to a hospital where he later died. His identity has not been released by KCPD.
Police believe the victim was in the restaurant's parking lot when he had "an interaction with one or more suspect(s)" that led to the shooting.
