The National Weather Service has issued gale warnings for all Great Lakes, except Lake Superior, because of winds that could reach more than 40 mph.
The weather service said to expect waves up to 14 feet tall along the Lake Michigan shoreline on Sunday, Oct. 19, and 18 feet on Lake Huron tonight.
Small craft advisories are in effect along the shoreline of all the Great Lakes, and a hazardous weather outlook is in effect throughout the Lower Peninsula.
From New Buffalo to Manistee on Lake Michigan, the weather service said to expect northwest winds of 20 to 30 knots, with gusts up to 40 knots, and waves up to 14 feet through 11 p.m. Sunday night.
"Strong winds will cause hazardous waves which could capsize or damage vessels and reduce visibility," the NWS warned.
