JACKSON, Miss. (WLBT) - A seventh person is now dead after being shot during an incident earlier this month in downtown Leland.

On Saturday, Hinds County Coroner Jeramiah Howard confirmed that Ebanee Williams, 25, had succumbed to injuries sustained during the mass shooting which left six others dead.

Howard said Williams’ body will be sent to the Mississippi State Medical Examiner for an autopsy.

Her case has also been referred back to the Washington County Coroner.

Howard confirmed Williams had been at the University of Mississippi Medical Center since the shooting. She died Friday night.

The Washington County Coroner’s Office confirmed 16 people were shot - a dozen of whom were taken to hospitals for treatment.
