The Kingston Frontenacs might be off to a fitful start to the 2025-26 season, but in the first month of the Ontario Hockey League season they’ve taken full ownership of the struggling Oshawa Generals.

On Saturday afternoon, less than 24 hours after a no-show 3-0 loss at home to the Ottawa 67’s, the Frontenacs pounded the Generals 7-1 at Slush Puppie Place. For Kingston it was the third win over Oshawa and the most convincing one yet.

Scoring was spread through the lineup. Overage defenceman Maleek McGowan opened the scoring in the second minute and, two shifts later, rookie winger Robin Kuzma notched what would stand as the game-winner. Nolan Buttar added a goal midway through the first period and the Frontenacs went into intermission up 3-0 having allowed Oshawa only two shots on goal.
