ATLANTA — Atlanta United has fired manager Ronny Deila after one season in charge, the club announced Sunday.

It comes after Atlanta finished with the second-worst point total in MLS this season, the club's worst since their league debut in 2018.

Club President and CEO Garth Lagerwey said in a statement it was "evident our standard of play was not met this season, and together with our senior leadership team, we have decided that it was in Atlanta United’s best interest to move the team in a different direction."
