LAKE COUNTY, MI – A 73-year-old man was killed in a rollover crash after another driver failed to yield, Lake County sheriff’s deputies reported.

The crash happened around 1:42 p.m. Friday, Oct. 17, in Eden Township.

Police said the 73-year-old Hart man was driving a semi-truck southbound, approaching the West 10 Mile Road and M-37 intersection.

At that time, a 49-year-old Irons woman driving an SUV eastbound on 10 Mile attempted to make a left turn in front of the semi. The woman failed to yield and was struck by the semi.

After the collision, the semi left the road, overturned, and caught fire, police said. The Hart man was pronounced dead at the scene.

The Irons woman was taken to an area hospital for treatment and later released, police said.
