FRANKLIN COUNTY, Ohio — A woman is dead and another was seriously injured in a hit-and-run crash in northeast Franklin County early Sunday morning, according to the sheriff's office.

Deputies were called on a report of a crash on Westerville Road, south of Innis Road, in Clinton Township just before 5 a.m.

The sheriff's office said a vehicle was traveling southbound on Westerville Road when it struck two women in the road.

Both women were transported to Riverside Methodist Hospital in critical condition. One of the women was pronounced dead at 5:48 a.m.

The vehicle involved did not stay at the scene.
