Kokrajhar witnessed a massive gathering of fans a month after the death of renowned Assamese singer Zubeen Garg, as admirers came together to honour his legacy and push for justice.
Organised by the local fan group Zubeen Anuragi, the event drew thousands, who lit over 5,000 earthen lamps in a symbolic display of solidarity. The lamps spelt out #JusticeForZubeenGarg, reflecting the community’s call for a fair and transparent investigation into the singer’s death.
Adding to the atmosphere, participants released sky lanterns carrying messages of remembrance, hope, and justice. A Nagara Naam, a traditional devotional performance, was also performed to mark the one-month memorial.
