The low hum of the conveyor belt fills the large, open warehouse at WFB1, Amazon’s Fairbanks Delivery Station. On any given day, at least 5,500 packages travel from the last-mile hub to communities in the Fairbanks area, out to Ester and to Salcha, up Murphy Dome Road and a significant length down Chena Hot Springs Road.

Since Amazon opened the 47,000-square-foot delivery station on Dec. 5, 2024, more than 1 million packages have been sorted and sent out, said facility site leader Cydney Edge.

“We are running at a full measure now, and there is opportunity for us to increase our volume in the future,” Edge said during a media tour.
