Suffolk County Police Marine Bureau officers rescued three people from Port Jefferson Harbor after their watercraft capsized yesterday. Three people were in a canoe and one person in a kayak when they were thrown into Port Jefferson Harbor after a passing boat’s wake caused their watercraft to capsize. A fisherman who witnessed the incident called 911 at 11:57 a.m. Police Officers John Falcone and Kevin Yoli aboard Marine Delta responded. The three men from the canoe, Chi Tong Chan, 29, of Stony Brook, Ka To Sze, 48, of Commack, I Tai Lu, 72, of Dix Hills, were holding onto either the canoe or a nearby pier. Two were wearing waders that had filled with water, weighing them down, and another man relies on crutches and was unable to make it to shore.
