LORAIN, Ohio (WOIO) - An 18-year-old man was fatally shot at Lakeview Park Saturday evening.

According to a release from Lorain Police, at around 6:44 p.m., officers responded to Lakeview Park North, located at 1800 West Erie Avenue, for a report of a shooting.

When officers arrived, they found a car parked near the west end of the lot, and inside was an unresponsive 18-year-old man with at least one gunshot wound to the head.

Police said they immediately initiated life-saving measures, and EMS then took the man to Mercy Health – Lorain Hospital.

He was later pronounced dead at the hospital.

Detectives from the Lorain Police Department’s Criminal Investigations Bureau are currently investigating the homicide shooting.
