CLEVELAND — An 18-year-old man died after being shot in the head in an incident at Lakeview Park North in Lorain on Saturday evening, the city's police department said.

According to a press release, Lorain Police Department officers responded to the park, located at 1700 West Erie Avenue, at 6:44 p.m. after receiving a report that a shooting had just occurred.

Police found a vehicle parked near the west end of the lot, with the 18-year-old victim unresponsive inside with an apparent gunshot wound to the head.

Officers rendered first aid and called EMS personnel to transport the victim to a Lorain hospital, where he was later pronounced dead.
