CHELAN COUNTY, Wash. – A head-on crash on Highway 97 outside of Chelan on Saturday afternoon sent six people to the hospital, including four children.
According to a press release from Washington State Patrol, a 22-year-old man from Seattle was driving southbound on Highway 97 along the Columbia River when he crossed the center line into oncoming traffic and struck another car.
The driver was life flighted to Sacred Heart Medical Center in Spokane. WSP said it is unknown if drugs or alcohol were a factor in the crash and charges are under investigation.
The 31-year-old female driver of the car that was struck was also injured, along with four child passengers. She and three of the children, aged 10, 14 and 11 were transported to Chelan Hospital, while the fourth child, 10, was life flig
