DENVER (KDVR) — The days are getting shorter, and the nights are getting colder as fall takes hold in Colorado, and Denver weather overnight had its coldest night so far this season.

Temperatures at Denver International Airport early Sunday morning reached a low of 32 degrees, just hitting freezing and giving the city its first freeze of fall.

Denver usually sees the first fall of the season around Oct. 7 each year, but this year's fell nearly two weeks later.

"Normally the first freeze of fall, that starts around Oct. 7, Oct. 8; not the case this year," Pinpoint Weather Meteorologist Greg Perez said. "We had to wait another 12 days for the first freeze."
