ATLANTA — Three people were shot late Saturday night and early Sunday morning in separate Downtown Atlanta incidents, according to police statements. At least two of the people appeared to have possibly been struck at random by gunfire.

In the first of the incidents, just after 9 p.m. on Saturday night, officers responded to a 33-year-old man who had been shot during what police believe was a drug deal at a location on McDaniel Street.

That man was described as "alert, conscious and breathing" and he was taken to a hospital by ambulance.

Roughly six hours later, just before 3:30 a.m., police responded to a 20-year-old woman who'd been shot at a location on Courtland Street. She, too, was described as alert, conscious and breathing and she was taken to a hospital by an ambulance.
