The Higley Unified School District reported total expenditures of more than $175 million for the 2024-25 fiscal year, according to its annual financial report presented to the Governing Board.
Interim Chief Financial Officer Sharon Rushcamp said the report, required by state law, breaks down district spending into major categories and will be submitted to the Arizona Department of Education and posted online.
She said the Auditor General’s office expanded the report this year to include food service, consolidating it with other financial statements.
Superintendent David Loutzenheiser said 58.4% of the district’s spending last year went toward instruction and classroom support, while 11.5% supported facilities and maintenance. Administrative costs accounted for 9.7% of spending, which he
