PORTLAND Ore. (KPTV) - Roughly 4,000 Kaiser Permanente healthcare workers across Oregon and Southwest Washington ended their five-day strike as scheduled Sunday morning, the company announced.
The strike, organized by the Oregon Federation of Nurses and Health Professionals (OFNHP), concluded at 7 a.m. Sunday, as the company announced it had returned to normal operations.
Meanwhile, negotiations continue, with bargaining scheduled for October 22 and 23, according to Kaiser.
While the healthcare company says that wages are the primary cause of the strike, the union cites staffing issues as another key factor.
