A Tel Aviv derby football match has been cancelled this evening (19 October) just minutes before kick off.
Israeli sides Maccabi Tel Aviv and Hapoel Tel Aviv were set to face off in a huge derby match in the Bloomfield Stadium, the home ground shared by the two teams.
The match was cancelled after riots at the stadium due to safety concerns for both the players and fans.
The game being called off comes after Maccabi Tel Aviv were banned from travelling to Birmingham for the teams Europa League match against Aston Villa in November – a move that was condemned by many politicians including Sir Keir Starmer.
