A roar waved over the Rogers Centre when it was revealed that José Bautista, on his 45th birthday, was here to throw out the ceremonial first pitch of Game 6.

The announcement stopped fans walking around the 100 level, who pulled out their phones to catch a glimpse of the former Jay while others just yelled “José!”

The team has brought members of the 2015 and 2016 American League championship series squad all playoffs long. Russell Martin and Kevin Pillar threw the first pitches in Games 1 and 2 of the division series, before Edwin Encarnacion and Josh Donaldson were rolled out for Games 1 and 2 of the championship series.
