SIOUX FALLS, S.D. (Dakota News Now) - Dancing with the Sioux Falls Stars returned to The District, featuring local names and seasoned dance professionals partnering to raise money for mental health support.

The fundraiser benefits Empire Mental Health through ticket sales and the People’s Choice award.

Board Member Phyllis Arends said dancing and movement help so much with mental health, so it makes sense to pair them with a fundraiser to help their work in the community.

“Dancing and movement go together so well. This is a way to reach hundreds of people who may not want to talk about mental health. Being here is an easy, social way for them to begin the discussion,” Arends said.

This year’s Mirrorball Trophy Winners are McKenzie Kock and Gabe Dannenbring.
