The Vancouver park board will consider a raft of new parking fees that include a $25 flat fee to park at the VanDusen Botanical Garden during the annual Festival of Lights event.

On Monday, park board staff will present the Park Board Parking Strategy to commissioners to either approve, reject or amend.

Among the list of proposals is to start charging $3.50 an hour to park at Hillcrest, Kerrisdale and Trout Lake community centres for non-centre users between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Also, under the strategy, non golfers parking at the Langara Golf Course would pay $4.25 an hour between 6 a.m. and 10 p.m.

Both of these plans would be trialled for a year, with staff reporting outcomes and recommendations back to commissioners.
