Shots were fired into a basement suite in Delta early Sunday morning, but police say it does not appear to be another case of extortion-related violence.
Delta police were called to reports of a shooting into the home in the 11300-block of 82nd Avenue at about 5 a.m.
“Preliminary investigation indicates this to be a targeted incident, but it does not appear to be extortion-related,” said Delta Police Department Staff Sgt. Mike Whiteley in a news release.
A suspect wearing a dark hoodie and face covering was seen on surveillance footage and was associated with a white sedan.
Investigators are going door to door in the neighbourhood and are asking anyone with information or video footage around the time of the shooting to talk to them at 604-946-4444 or email tips@deltapolice.ca .
