SIKESTON, Mo. (WSIL) -- Authorities have made an arrest in connection with a recent homicide investigation in Sikeston. On Friday, the Sikeston Department of Public Safety Criminal Investigations Unit, with help from the SEMO Major Case Squad, took into custody a juvenile suspect.

Police said the suspect has been charged with several crimes, including Second Degree Murder, Armed Criminal Action, and four felony counts of Child Endangerment. Due to the involvement of juveniles, officials are limiting the information released.

Sikeston DPS earlier stated the incident happened on Thursday evening when a ShotSpotter alert notified officers of gunshots in the 400 block of East Gladys. Police said a gunshot victim was taken to a local hospital but later died from their injuries.
