MIDDLETOWN, Ky. — One person has been hospitalized after a fire in Middletown.

The fire happened in the 300 block of Barcelona Drive around 1 a.m. Sunday, just off South English Station Road.

According to Anchorage Middletown Fire and EMS, the fire was seen coming from the roof in the rear of a two-story, single family home.

Crews were able to quickly get in and contain the fire.

A spokesperson for AMFEMS said one person who was inside suffered non-life threating thermal injuries and was taken to UofL Hospital.

More than 30 firefighters were on scene, and it took 40 minutes to bring it under control.

The cause of the fire remains under investigation.
