Diwali is being celebrated with great enthusiasm across the country today. In Goa, people celebrated Diwali in a unique way by burning a large effigy of the demon Narakasura to symbolize Lord Krishna's victory over evil. The effigy was burned in Panaji in the morning. People exchanged greetings. Effigies of the demon Narakasura were burnt on the occasion of Diwali in Goa.

President Draupadi Murmu extended her greetings to the nation on the occasion. In a post on X, she said, "On the auspicious occasion of Diwali, I extend my greetings and best wishes to all Indians living in India and abroad."

Prime Minister Narendra Modi also extended his greetings to the nation. In a post on X, Modi said, "Heartiest greetings on the occasion of Diwali. May this festival of lights illuminate our lives
