Victorian Premier Jacinta Allan has assured her constituents Melbourne is “safe” after a spate of violent protests and vicious machete attacks.
Allan fronted the media on Monday after two teenagers were attacked by a group of men armed with machetes at Luna Park in St Kilda about 6.40pm the previous night.
The teens suffered minor injuries and were treated at the scene before the offenders fled in a car.
Just hours prior, two police officers were injured by “projectiles” as counter protests to the March For Australia rally in the CBD turned ugly .
